Portfolio cover and logo

The first one is my cover and the second one is my logo.  I decided to give my portfolio a classic vintage theme to it.  I created both of these in photoshop and I am putting them into my indesign portfolio.

Give an object life

I decided to go simple on this one.  I got a statue of a cat and I edited to make it look like it was changing to an actual cat.  I also used the smudge tool to make it look like a transformation.  After I got done I changed the adjustment of the photo to give it a darker look.

Eye art

This is the second time I posted this since it did not go through the first time for some odd reason.  Each eye I had an crazy idea for and I really enjoyed this project.  I used layer options for the make up and iris color.  For the alien eye I put a blue layer, change the layer option and I also used the liquify filter to make the eye look bigger.

Eyes project

My eye project!  Probably one of the best designs I ever created in this class!  I had fun with this one.  For each picture, I got an idea and ran with it!  I used layer styles for the make up and iris.  To make eye brows look darker, the burn tool.  For my alien blue later with layer styles and the liquify filter to make the eyes bigger.  Photoshop CS5

Billboard Design

Here is my billboard, we had to choose something from a list of topic and I choose littering.  I got rid of what was on the billboard originally to add my design.  I decided to go on the idea that littering causes damage to the environment, mainly to animals.  Made is CS5.

Consumer college part 2

The second part, we had to place the college into an actual object. I used a finder guitar for my object.  I even try to give it a glossy look using layer blending options to make it look almost 3-D!  I created this in Photoshop CS5 ^.^

Consumer collage part 1

It this part, we had to put a collage in a shape.  Since I used band logos in it I decided the shape should be a guitar!  :3  I filled it us with as much band logo that I could think of!  I used Photoshop CS5!  :)

Shape college

Here is my shape college created with the shape college application.  :)  Some of the photos are pretty good, some are not since they're old and I took them back in middle school.  I chose nature as my theme since I had more photos of nature such as animals and plants and such.  I even got creative with the shape by making the shape a butterfly.  :3

2nd tell a story (without text) fixing a strap

Here is my second tell a story project.  In this I was fixing a strap on a dress that broken off the dress.  It was simple.  I used Photoshop Elements 8 to edit and to college.  I took the photos with Nikon coolpix p-90.  On the camera I used functions such as close up and the self timer.  The self timer was used in the one picture showing me actually sewing the dress.

Photojournalism Paper

Photojournalism is a forum of journalism  that creates images to tell a news story.  Most photojournalist work for news organizations and work in high pressure deadline driven environment.  They must be willingly to work in dangerous situations if their assignments involves documenting rough weather, violent situations or even combat zones.  They are often hired by mainly news companies such as newspapers and magazines.  The pay is mainly based on who does one work for.  It's a wide range on the exact amount someone would get.  The annual salary can be as low as $25,000 to as high as over $100,000.  Most photojournalist relocate to where their story is at.  It is a job that involves a lot of travel.  There are some photojournalist jobs that only work with local events but most are state, country or even world wide.  Some qualifications include education and equipment.  A high-end camera such as Nikon or Canon is useful in taking such wonderful pictures.  Knowing how to work with a professional camera,  lighting in both out doors and indoors areas, and able to know how to edit photos in software such as photoshop.  Since it is photography, it is not just a click and say "Hey!  I got a photo"  It is more detailed, and knowing what someone is taking a photo of.  Making sure one captures the full picture so it can tell 1000 words.
Glenna Gordon is an American photographer and journalist.  She takes photos in Africa of the news a life of the people in countries such as Uganda and Liberia.  Since she works both as a photographer and journalist, she takes photos of what goes on in Africa to match her news story.  She takes photos of political situations, her life living in Africa and to show the poverty of third world countries.  Though, she only studied in journalism and history she started her photography career by interning at a local newspaper in Uganda.  She later moved to Liberia and built a freelance photojournalism career.  While she was bases in Liberia, she took many photos of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf a dozen times and contributed many of her photos to various magazines and newspapers.  She updates her blog, Scarlett Lion" often with her photography art and articles of her life and situations in Africa.    "I hope to challenge preconceived notions of Africa through exploring the incredible breadth of stories that need to be told." - Glenna Gordon.

I do have an intreats in a career in photography.  Though, I have a more of an intreats in advertising then anything else.  I do believe that photojournalism would be interesting.  Mainly for the traveling, being one of the fist to know about a situation  and meeting new and interesting people that I would probably never meet if it was not for the job.

My own ripped image

After I fixed it
Really easy to fix since the background is I guess to say mainly all the same tone in color.  The only difficulty I found was fixing my face.  Every thing else was pretty easy.

The image ripped

Fixing an old ripped image

This was a very easy project but long.  Pretty much it was mainly putting the image back together and then fixing some of the wear on the photo.  I already knew how to fixed the wear since I did a similar project in multimedia class and also fixed some of my grandfather's old photos using GIMP.  So I already knew a few basics.  I edited this in photoshop CS5.

Cereal box design box

Here is the actual box for my cereal box design.  The cereal box design, which was shown in one of the pervious post, I had to print and cut it out so it can be taped on a cereal box.  I do not really liked my design, I am not much into package design :(

Dream art work

Here is my creation for the dream project that I created in photoshop.  I had three different photos, the tornado, the sky and the land.  So I had to use select tools to delete unwanted parts in a photo.  I used motion blur on everything but the ground to give the effect of wind.  I also use the garnet tool and changing the layer's opacity to give the photo a pinkish dark appearance.
The dreams I created here were of storms, typically tornados.  The sky in these dreams usually are a pinking purple tone.

Cereal box

Here is my cereal box.  When printed, it may have to be a different size since I finished before I brought in the cereal box.  My cereal is called "Animal bites" so I kept the them as animals.  The illustrated animals were old illustrator designs that I created either from free time in class or boredom at home.  I also used the animals to make marshmallows in the cereal, selecting only two colors and bevel the images to give it a more of a marshmallowey look.  On the back I put instructions on how to draw a fish and facts about animals since cereal with marshmallows are usually for children.  I thought it would also be a good idea to add advertisements to the side for an animals charity, World Wildlife Fund.

Facebook article

http://teenadvice.about.com/od/adviceexpert/a/usingfacebook.htm

What are your thoughts about the article?
It is an okay article I suppose.  Gives some good information like do not put public your contact info.  But as for using a real photo in the profile?  Well.... there are some facebook "trends" for like have your favorite pokemon your facebook picture for a week and such in which is kinda cool to take part of.  And the real name thing..... some people go by a nick name a lot to wear that is the only thing people know them by.

Do you have a facebook account?
I have two!

How often are you on facebook?
way to much

Is your facebook set to private or public?
Public but that is mainly because I have my artwork and photography up on there and I want to share them :)

Did you learn anything? If so, what did you learn or what did you already know?
I did not really learn much since many people been preaching this ever since myspace was the big thing.

Gif movie

Please click the picture to view the movie thing.  I made it and animated it in photoshop.  I drew and color the set and props.  For movable items such as the space craft, stars and word bubbles I drew and cut them out and moved the items for each photo.  I also had to add actions to the photos before I made the gif image.
