Shape college

Here is my shape college created with the shape college application.  :)  Some of the photos are pretty good, some are not since they're old and I took them back in middle school.  I chose nature as my theme since I had more photos of nature such as animals and plants and such.  I even got creative with the shape by making the shape a butterfly.  :3

Here is my second tell a story project.  In this I was fixing a strap on a dress that broken off the dress.  It was simple.  I used Photoshop Elements 8 to edit and to college.  I took the photos with Nikon coolpix p-90.  On the camera I used functions such as close up and the self timer.  The self timer was used in the one picture showing me actually sewing the dress.

Photojournalism Paper

Photojournalism is a forum of journalism  that creates images to tell a news story.  Most photojournalist work for news organizations and work in high pressure deadline driven environment.  They must be willingly to work in dangerous situations if their assignments involves documenting rough weather, violent situations or even combat zones.  They are often hired by mainly news companies such as newspapers and magazines.  The pay is mainly based on who does one work for.  It's a wide range on the exact amount someone would get.  The annual salary can be as low as $25,000 to as high as over $100,000.  Most photojournalist relocate to where their story is at.  It is a job that involves a lot of travel.  There are some photojournalist jobs that only work with local events but most are state, country or even world wide.  Some qualifications include education and equipment.  A high-end camera such as Nikon or Canon is useful in taking such wonderful pictures.  Knowing how to work with a professional camera,  lighting in both out doors and indoors areas, and able to know how to edit photos in software such as photoshop.  Since it is photography, it is not just a click and say "Hey!  I got a photo"  It is more detailed, and knowing what someone is taking a photo of.  Making sure one captures the full picture so it can tell 1000 words.
Glenna Gordon is an American photographer and journalist.  She takes photos in Africa of the news a life of the people in countries such as Uganda and Liberia.  Since she works both as a photographer and journalist, she takes photos of what goes on in Africa to match her news story.  She takes photos of political situations, her life living in Africa and to show the poverty of third world countries.  Though, she only studied in journalism and history she started her photography career by interning at a local newspaper in Uganda.  She later moved to Liberia and built a freelance photojournalism career.  While she was bases in Liberia, she took many photos of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf a dozen times and contributed many of her photos to various magazines and newspapers.  She updates her blog, Scarlett Lion" often with her photography art and articles of her life and situations in Africa.    "I hope to challenge preconceived notions of Africa through exploring the incredible breadth of stories that need to be told." - Glenna Gordon.

I do have an intreats in a career in photography.  Though, I have a more of an intreats in advertising then anything else.  I do believe that photojournalism would be interesting.  Mainly for the traveling, being one of the fist to know about a situation  and meeting new and interesting people that I would probably never meet if it was not for the job.

My own ripped image

After I fixed it
Really easy to fix since the background is I guess to say mainly all the same tone in color.  The only difficulty I found was fixing my face.  Every thing else was pretty easy.

The image ripped

Fixing an old ripped image

This was a very easy project but long.  Pretty much it was mainly putting the image back together and then fixing some of the wear on the photo.  I already knew how to fixed the wear since I did a similar project in multimedia class and also fixed some of my grandfather's old photos using GIMP.  So I already knew a few basics.  I edited this in photoshop CS5.

Here is the actual box for my cereal box design.  The cereal box design, which was shown in one of the pervious post, I had to print and cut it out so it can be taped on a cereal box.  I do not really liked my design, I am not much into package design :(
